Considered by many to be the best Disney movie ever (ever!), it's actually a little bit further down my list. I do love this movie, but Emperor's New Groove is my favorite. What's great about The Lion King though is that it's a happy animated version of Hamlet. It's got the death of the father and the take-over by the uncle. It's even got Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in the form of Timon & Pumbaa. It's only missing a few things, like the final death of Hamlet/Simba, and the rejection and subsequent suicide of Ophelia/Nala. It's a fantastic movie though, and the voices are really amazing. The songs are a lot of fun and watching it this time I'm noticing I still have them memorized from when I learned them as a kid.
