Waking Life

Very Odd movie. Richard Linklater, so that partially explains it, but it's done much the same way that the upcoming A Scanner Darkly is with the filmed in Live Action and then animated. But this one is all about a boy/teenager who is constantly dreaimng about having these philosophical conversations with people. THere are conversations about life and dreams and all sorts of stuff. A lot of it went over my head, and then a lot of it that I understood (or thought I did at the time) made me feel waaay smarter than I am. It's a movie to watch if you're into philosophy and existentialism, or if you want to learn in a more creative format. It doens't explain things to you, just tells you about them.

It's a movie you can walk away from either feeling a whole lot smarter, or a whole lot stupider.

this movie is very unique...actually one of the best things about it is the music...i highly recommend getting your hands on the soundtrack by the tosca tango orchestra.

i am very excited about a scanner darkly...or at least am afraid that it might not be good b/c i love the look of waking life, and i like the movie before sunrise and sunset by richard linklater.
