So, I've completely started freaking out about my upcoming move to California. I've actually started thinking about what I have to do, and the list is completely daunting. I have to find an apartment, which is going to be impossible. I have to pack to move. I have to go out there and come back and take all my stuff. I have to find a job. I need to find friends because I really don't know anyone. I'm leaving in 15 days or so, and all of this is just starting to come home to me!
I've started lurking around craig's list looking at apartments, and looking at roommates. I realized that I don't think I'll really be able to get a place by myself right away. I don't have a job, and because I haven't really been making any money recently, I'm not sure I'll be able to qualify for one. But if I get in with a roommate, first off the rent is cheaper, I'll have a friend (hopefully), and I'll be able to have a starting point. So, I actually e-mailed one girl today who has a place in Culver City. It's a great place, and I'd love to live there, but I'm really a little scared to commit to a place until I have a job, but I'm not really sure I'll be able to get a job until I have a place. And that kinda scares me...
Plus, I have to have some kind of vehicle. I'm not sure I care what kind anymore, but I still really like the idea of a Vespa. I'm going to look into a used one. It just makes a lot more sense than buying a new one. It's just a matter of finding one. I don't know the first place to look. Especially since JD Power doesn't even rate motorcycles at all. It's a little annoying. So, I just realized that Ebay has vehicles (though I don't understand why people would want to buy or sell a car like that: it just doesn't make sense to me). But I went over there and they have about 20 Vespas available, though most of them are the vintage kind, and while those are completely cool, I'm not sure I want to deal with another old car.... Don't get me wrong, I love my car (it's a '90 VW Cabriolet Convertible in red), but it's seriously coughing, and it's incontinent now (it leaks gas). *sigh* I just need someone to give me a vehicle that will survive for my first year out there without needing any work except oil changes.
Question of the Day: How hard was it for you to move out of your parents' place?
